Introducing the Major of Systems Biotechnology
What is Systems Biotechnology?
Systems biotechnology uses a systemic approach to study molecular biology, biochemistry, and biotechnology, from the molecular and cellular levels to individual organisms and ecosystems.
Biotechnology has spurred the rapid development of human civilization. In the 21st century, biotechnology has become driven by systems biotechnology based on post-genome technologies that include gene-based transcriptome, proteome, and metabolome technologies.
Systems biotechnology systemically approaches living organisms at the molecular and cellular levels to the individual organism and ecosystem levels.
The Department of Biotechnology at Chung-Ang University is a leader in applied life science and biotechnology through our participation in the second-phase BK21 project. Following the creation of our department in March 2013, we have been recruiting new students to foster the next generation of scientists who are globally competitive in biotechnology research and applications.
We aim to foster global and open-minded human resources that will contribute to public benefit. To this end, we educate our students in global leadership and biotechnology knowledge that will power social development based on social justice and truth, which are the educational concepts of Chung-Ang University.
